For the Ten Millionth Time

Assorted People: Hey, Michelle, do you want to go and see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie?
Michelle: Uh, no thanks, I think I'll pass.

There is absolutely nothing about this movie that makes me want to see it. (No, I couldn't care less about Johnny Depp). I saw the first one, and it was okay, but I think my favourite part was the part where someone in the theatre took a photograph of the scene where whoever-it-is kisses near the end.

If I could be guaranteed to laugh that hard this time, then I'd go. But, otherwise, sorry, I'll pass. But you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone else to go, because pretty much everyone loves Johnny Depp.

Laugh? would that be the thing that would get you there? The first one was lots of fun, but I don't think it would really qualify as "funny" (though it did have its moments). For me, it's much more a swashbuckling adventure story. Though now that I've said that I'm not sure how I can explain the appeal of that sort of thing to someone who didn't like the movie. If you didn't like "The Mask of Zorro" either (that one with Anthony Hopkins in it) then I think you wouldn't understand.
