How is it possible that it is Monday? Like where did the weekend actually go? One minute it was Saturday morning, the next it was waaaay too early Monday morning and time to go to work. And somehow last night it seemed like a good idea to stay up until 1am to watch Project Catwalk, and then this morning, not such a good idea.
Saturday, after watching my usual episode of Felicity and trooping over to the local thrift shop to see what there is to see, I ventured off to the fabric store in the next town to attempt to find a good fabric for a dress I'm planning on making to wear to a wedding later this summer. I had narrowed it down to two possible fabrics the last time I was there (about a month and a half ago), and I decided I needed to look at them again one last time before taking the plunge and deciding on one over the other. However, the fabric store was in a shambles (I think maybe they were reorganizing?) and it took me a long while to actually determine that they were completely out of both fabrics. But, luckily I did happen to find another fabric that I actually like a whole bunch more than the other two fabrics. Granted, it is actually a home decorating fabric of some sort, but I think it will work. I couldn't pass it up.
I also got a "testing fabric" to test out the dress pattern first, rather than cut out my beautiful fabric and end up with something totally unwearable. So most of yesterday I spent trying to figure out this pattern with it's totally weird instructions. Plus I was trying to add a full lining rather than just a partial lining like the pattern accomodated for.
I should be sewing more for my shop rather than for me, as I know I shall really be able to use the extra money in the next few months. If anyone is interested in any custom orders, let me know. :)

It is just so tempting when you advertise custom orders :)
