Flashback Friday: November 2002

I am so looking forward to the weekend and not having to be at work tomorrow. I mean that words cannot accurately convey my ecstaticness at the fact that Saturday morning and Sunday morning both I do not have to get in a car and drive the 21km to spend the day at the office.

I'm planning on doing some fun crafting and sewing and maybe some card making this weekend, so I wanted to do an appropriate Flashback Friday. This photo is from the autumn of my first year in seminary, when I lived in a house with 5 other females (who were all in Bible college) and we thought it was just the greatest thing ever. Well, most of the time. But we did seriously have the sweetest house on campus. I have a very distinct memory of meeting with Glen Runnalls the next spring for some yearbook thing and him asking me all sorts of questions on how exactly did that work, 6 females living in a house and not in dorm. It was still a fairly new thing at the time, not having to live in dorm at the Bible college we went to.

Anyways, I believe what I was making in that photo were Christmas tree ornaments, for our Christmas tree that we bought in honour of the jumbotron Christmas Party Open House that we threw later in November. I think something like 80 people came. There were people everywhere. Luckily we had three living rooms and a dining room and kitchen. I can remember baking for days. We used to always talk about how we should have had a video camera on hand because we could have made a whole docudrama on Caronport's largest private non-institutional party ever.

Joanne's looking at one of Rachel's scrapbooks in that picture. Later on, in the spring, we actually somehow got her to start making one of her own. I don't think she ever finished it... well, actually I'm absolutely positive she never finished it. But I finished my scrapbook of that year. It's got a whole 2-page spread

So yeah, scattered thoughts, but I can't wait for tomorrow. I don't have to go to work. And Felicity is on at 10am. It's like the highlight of my week.

Anyways, I've gotta jet. It's time to go home.

Oh thank goodness.

That was one of my favorite Christmas Parties ever! Good food. Lots of friends. Festive times. Living outside the dorm world was one of the best things I ever did at Bible college.
