Interview #8

This interview comes from Jake of Mainstreet American:

1. Tell us a few things you were surprised to learn in Arkansas:
NW Arkansas is not like any other part of the state. People here really love Walmart (yes, it is the home of Walmart), but I don't think I've found a single Arkansan who does not like Walmart. Many Arkansans have known how to Call the Hogs since birth (Woooo Pig Soooie!).

2. What three things about your home state do you miss the most?
Jenn, my family and the wonderful mountains.

3. What was your favourite year of your life and why?
Junior year of college, 2000-2001 school year. I was loving school, had great friends, met Jenn (although we were not dating yet), just had a lot of fun and good times that year.

4. If you could have excelled at a sport and played it professionally, what sport would you have wanted it to be and why?
Good question. When I was younger I would have said basketball, but now I would say Hockey. I think hockey is the most exciting sport out there. And you don't have to be particularly tall to play (at 5' 8'' there is no way I could have played basketball). I respect hockey players more because they are not AS money hungry as other athletes.

5. What was your favourite toy as a child?
Hmm...I had a Felix that Cat stuffed animal that I really loved, and my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

6. If you could live in a movie, what movie would you chose?
Depends on my mood, but I would say Lord of The Rings (preferably in Rivendell or Lothlorien) or Edward Scissorhands (living in a world created by Tim Burton would be amazing. You never would know what to expect).

7. Tell us about your career ambitions.
Right now (or after I get my M.Ed) I would like to work at a college or university in Boston, Washington DC or Phoenix, AZ in the student affairs, alumni affairs of parental affairs area. Eventually I would like to be a fairly well published professor of Higher Education or Political Science/Public Policy or a Dean at a college or university (in Colorado). Ideally I'd liked to be Governor of Colorado at some point or at least be in the state legislature.

8. Pet peeves, we've all got them, tell us about one of yours:
Unwillingness to hear another point of view, being bossy, not cleaning up after oneself.

9. Sunrise or sunset, which do you prefer?
Sunset, but when i get the chance to see a sunrise, I love it.

10. If you could spend a day with any of the former presidents of the United States, or a Canadian Prime Minister ;) , living or dead, whom would you chose to spend it with?
That is a very tough question. I cannot just have one answer. As for a PM I think it would be very interesting to spend a day with Martin (because of all the craziness that is going on in the world now) or Trudeau because I'd like to hear about how he handled being America's neighbor during the Cold War. As for U.S. Presidents, I would say Jimmy Carter because he has been such a great fmr. President. He has done more as former President than anyone has ever done. Thomas Jefferson, because I want to pick his brain about a few things in the U.S. Constitution.
