eastern ontario
well, here i am in eastern ontario for the weekend at my friend (and former housemate) holly's house. i should, of course, tell you all of all the exciting things we've been up to, but she said we haven't done anything exciting.
Today we went to Merrickville, which is this little touristy town. We went to this glass blowing place and watched a guy make a vase, which was neato, but everything there was too expensive to buy. We also watched some boats go through the locks at the Rideau Canal which was neato. It was quite a lovely day. We also had ice cream. Holly had the same kind as me. Cherry cheese cake.
Then we came back to Holly's house, and watched some TLC and HGTV, and I fell asleep and then Holly's mom came down to ask what kind of fajita shells we wanted and woke me up and I was pretty disoriented. Chuckle chuckle. Then we had chicken fajitas with the Skeltons (Holly's gramma came over too) and it was lovely, and now we are sitting downstairs in the living room.
And for the first time since leaving home at the end of May I have been able to access my blog to read the comments, thank you for all of them! :) It is nice to hear that you are still out there and still reading. The library's internet won't let me access any blogspot blogs, and Heather's computer, which I will use most often this summer, always gives me an error message for my blog. Maybe it'll be fixed now that I have this new blogger thing set up. We'll see.
Thank you to those who have sent emails too, I worry though that I might not have gotten all of them because my Briercrest email accounts have been overloading with junkmails... so the best way to get a hold of me is my hotmail email which is michellegraceirene at hotmail dot com.
Well... I'm off. :)
Oh, I forgot. This morning we went to the church to wash strawberries and put them in little baskets for all the children's ministry volunteers with little signs that say "We appreciate you 'Berry' much!"
Now I am doing laundry which is pretty exciting. What is cooler than clean clothes? :)
Holly keeps telling me I should move to Kitchener in January. Joanne thinks I should move to Abbotsford or Calgary with her. I keep telling Carolyn that we need to get a cool place to live. Hmm... wonder where I'll end up.

rare
i am at the library in a rare middle of the week occurence... so how are you?
staff training week is going well, it is only day two, but i think things are going well. today i went to thornhill with another program director to get some craft supplies for arts and crafts, and now we are at the library because she needed to use the internet.
i am tired and cranky and want to have a nap. and i have never seen so many luxury automobiles in my entire life as i have today i think. people in toronto need to get rid of their jaguars and lexuses and bmws and mercedes and do something worthwhile with the money.
the weather is hot. sweltering in fact.
and the heat reflecting off the pavement doesn't make it any better.
ugh.
but, things are good at camp. and God is working. yay for God.
xoxo,
michelle

summer solstice
yesterday was the summer solstice, did you notice? i went for a lovely walk along the shore of lake ontario with heather and lisa, and we could see the CN Tower. it was very neato mosquito. pink and blue with the sun setting, etc. just lovely.
next weekend i'm heading out to eastern ontario to my friend holly's house, should be a super weekend. tonight though, i head back to camp, and then staff training starts on monday morning at 8am. we have a week of training, going over the essentials, lots of planning, and some fun as well too. :)
i should go, i have a few things to do, but have a super week and hopefully i will talk to you next weekend. or, you can send me an email. or, you can send me real mail. hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge!
hope you are all having a great summer. let me know if there is any way i can pray for you, miss you all!

i don't get it
so here i am on a real computer with real internet and no fifteen minute limits, and i can't get my blog to load at all, so i hope that it works for all of you folks out there. otherwise, you must be having some serious michelle withdrawl! :)
random thoughts from the past week or so:
- i tried bubble tea. i wasn't sure how to order it. can anyone advise me on what a good bubble tea to order would be?
- hanging out with pretty much all guys 24-7 is interesting. you learn a lot of stuff you would not otherwise know.
- it pretty much sucks when you like someone and everyone bugs you about that particular person although they are not serious and do not know that you actually like that person.
- i love flip flops. i wish you could weart them in winter.
- i love southern ontario. the weather is awesome. the trees are awesome. it's pretty. the people are awesome.
- i've had five rolls of film developed since getting here. i wish i could post some, but you'll have to wait until the fall when i have access to a scanner so i can update my photo pages. : (
- i saw a real live turtle the other day. like, as in, out for a stroll and not in a tank. it was cool. i've never seen a real live turtle out for a stroll before.
- ontario has too much tax. 15%! like, as in 7% GST and 8% PST. alberta doesn't have PST.
- my friend lisa from bbc (she wasn't there this past year but was the two years before that) is coming to visit tonight and that is very exciting. i am at my old roommate heather's house which is always fun. she lives not too far from camp.
- staff training week starts monday morning, and then next week, june 30th campers come. and so, camp begins.
now i'm going to depart because i have some emails to finish. hope that you can access this. otherwise, what was all this typing for?
:)

one more week
i'm once again at the library, not able to access my blog but able to access blogger, so all you get is a quick update. but next weekend i should be able to post a bunch of delayed entries that i have typed up, so stay tuned! :) these computers won't let me on to blogspot blogs, so unfortunately all of my good chums, i cannot see what most of you have been up to. rats.
we only have one more week of spring staff, then a week of staff training, and then june 30th our first of eight weeks of campers starts. things are slowly getting done, the chapel is starting to be decorated, i've been doing lots of paperwork... and the weather today is beautiful after a week of cold and rain.
i took a bunch of pictures yesterday and had a fabulous time, they are being developed right now and i can't wait to see them.
i watched the first "lord of the rings" movie last night... um... it was boring. is that a bad thing to say? please don't hate me. i don't get why people like it.
anyways, i should go, i have to get out of here and i've used up 3 fifteen minute limits on this computer and i think the librarians might be watching me so i should go... ugh. but next weekend, hopefully i'll be able to post some more. so, until then, take care and have a great week.
xoxo,
michelle

long time
well, it's been a long time since i've seen the internet, i'm at the library in town and i only have a few minutes!
things are going well, i got here last thursday night at about midnight. there are six of us at camp right now getting things ready for the summer. we had a senior staff meeting last tuesday, and have a meeting with all the staff this tuesday. the large majority of all the staff are from around here, i'm the only out-of-province staff and the farthest anyone else is from is a couple of hours.
i am officially the "program administrator" this year, so i get to do all sorts of paperwork, which is actually okay, i like paperwork. i'm also teaching crafts a bit again and i'm not sure all what else. this month we do a lot of manual labour (digging holes and trenches, varnishing, cleaning, etc. etc.!), and program planning as well as paperwork.
i would love to write more but i should go... i have a few emails to read and my inbox to clean out all the spam so it doesn't reach it's limit. i can't access any blogs from this computer... so unfortunately i can't see what you've all been up to this past week and a half. hopefully next weekend i'll be somewhere for the weekend where i can use the internet a bit more.
take care and have a great week.
